Welcome to our first 2008 entry.  Sorry for the delay in getting this done.  I have been so far behind that I have decided to combine my January, February and March 2008 page into one.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

All the best for 2008!!

January started with some fun in the snow.  Our family is still visiting and we decided to take a nice walk to the park and do some fun sliding.  Although Victoria was not feeling very well, she made it out for some fun and a couple of slides.

The next event for the month, was attending a birthday party for some friends of Nyah's from school - Amy and Andrew.  These two kids are twins, from Nyah's class - older SK kids.  She was one of the two JK kids invited to the party.  It was really fun, it was held at the Guelph Nature Centre.  Nyah had a fun time, but she didn't want to get too close to Charlotte, the tarantula spider.  But as you can see some of the other kids really enjoyed make a 'Tarantula' highway.  Which is where all the kids could lie on the floor, side by side and have the spider pass over each hand in the 'highway'.  After that we got to go on a nature hike, which included feeding the birds and playing hide and seek.  Once everyone worked up an appetite, we all had a winter campfire to roast our hotdogs.

The final event of the month was another birthday party.  While I spent the day scrapbooking for a wonderful event, Crop for the Cure.  Which was a 12-hour day of scrapping with the proceeds to Breast Cancer.  I had a wonderful day and got lots done.  I also won a few fun items.

So while I was there, Marc and Nyah went to Parveer's 5th birthday party.  And from looking at the pictures, it seems like Nyah along with everyone else had a wonderful time.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY PARVEER!!

Our annual 2008 Chinese New Year Party was another success, although we nearly cancelled it due to a freezing rainstorm and unfortunately some families were not able to make it, for those who did, fun was had by all, young and young at heart!

Again we were very much fortunate to have our event hosted by Sue and Tom Jacque.  They are a ever growing family, with there recent addition - the 8 family member, little Christian from South Africa last March 2007.  They are an amazing family with great outlook in life and an open heart.  As you can see from the pictures all the girls are growing and changing each year.  I really love seeing how each has changed and how each girl is developing into budding little girls.

This year we got a special treat, when Tom entertained us on the drums.  It was also really fun how the girls decided to attack Marc.  I also really enjoyed seeing all the funny faces that Nyah and Fawn could do for me.

This year we enjoyed our newest addition to the children little Christian and Islay.  One of my most specially memories is watching little Islay open her Chinese envelop, and then peak inside to see what was waiting inside.  Welcome precious children.

As February speeds by, the anxious waiting is over and finally Memere and Pepere are here to visit with us for a few days.  We are all very excited to see them come and Nyah just loved seeing them.  We had a wonderful visit, starting with a few hours of catching up.  Memere and Pepere, were just in awe with how much Nyah had changed in the last 6 months since they last seen us.  On this trip, Pepere was the favourite.  Although Nyah played lots with Memere like playing Sleeping Beauty, reading books and doing craft, Pepere was the favourite for cuddling and having the privilege of setting next to her in the van and at the table.  Too bad for Memere, she was demoted to the back seat.  Oh well, each visit is different.  I sometimes think that Nyah was enjoying giving Memere a little hard time...

Anyway, our big outing this year was a trip to the annual 2008 Canadian International Autoshow in Toronto.  It was a great day at the show.  The cars were pretty cool and some really different.  It would have been really cool to take a ride in some of them.  I think Pepere really enjoyed the show, it was probably the biggest car show he would have seen.

The next day, Darlene, Scott and the kids came over to enjoy a visit with Memere and Pepere.  It had been a really long time since they had seen her and vice versa.  Everyone had a nice visit and enjoyed each others company.  Unfortunately, the visit is nearly to end and they will be leaving soon.  On Sunday night, Nyah was quite sad knowing that the next day they were leaving.  It is really too bad that we leave so far away.  It is really hard on Nyah because as she gets closer to them, they are on their way home.  She loves them all so much and enjoys having them here.

Finally after months of requesting some photos of the newest family member, we have gotten them.  At the end of this photo section, you will see a few pictures of Romi Jill Lemieux - Mike and Stephanie's 3rd little one.  Born November 10, 2007.

March has been such a busy and crazy month for me that picture taking was not done very often.  The first picture was taken more than half way through the month.  Although it was a late photo, it is a beauty.  One of our pretty Nyah - in a new pretty pink dress.

The following weekend was Easter.  We had a wonderful long weekend.  On Friday, we just hung out and enjoyed a slow quiet day at home.  Tiding up and playing some games.  Then on Saturday, we had such a great day.  A day that Nyah will remember for a very long time.  Darlene, Scott and Alyssa came over and we all headed to Toronto and went to see Disney on Ice Princess Classic.  The show was just wonderful and it was so great to see Nyah being taken in by the show and the characters.  It was a fun time for everyone, of all ages.  What wonderful memories that were created for those little girls.

The next day, was Easter and the morning started very early with our first Easter egg hunt.  Nyah had a great time finding all the treats that the bunny left behind.  After that first hunt, we had many more.  I am not sure how many but lots.  Nyah just loved to hide them again and again for me too hunt, then I hide them for her.  It is really cute and a very special.  After a fun day, Nyah was determined to take a bide ride.  The sun was shining but it was a little cold too, but Marc took down the her bike and she got all bundled up.  We took a nice ride down the street.  Nyah has been talking about wanting the snow to go way so she could ride her bike.  It was fun walk and the beginning of what will be a nice spring and great summer.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

GUNG HAY FAT CHOY!

2008 is the year of the Rat.  Here are a few things about the year of the Rat.

People born in the Year of the Rat are one of the most industrious and hardest working in the zodiac.

Forever busy in pursuit of an ambitious personal goal, at times they may become difficult to work with since they are born perfectionists. Rats must ensure that every "i" is dotted before completing an assigned task. As a result, they are often successful financially, and are good providers for their family and those they cherish most dearly.

Loyal and loving, Rat people inspire loyalty in others who are close to them. They are essentially honest individuals and loath to betray a confidence. However, their quick wit and restlessness can sometimes lead to chattiness, and they can often be relied upon at large social gatherings for a good story or a juicy bit of gossip.

Their energy levels and expert organizational talents are such that it is a rare thing to see a Rat person sitting idly by with nothing to do.

They may even sometimes be viewed as opportunists who cajole others into helping them accomplish a great ambition. In their careers, Rat people can find much success as business leaders or politicians.

The month of February was a very memorable one filled with wonderful visits and lots of snow.  This year seems to be the year on record for snow fall.  It has been just crazy with all the snow and we have battled were to actually put it.

Amongst all the new snow, we also got to enjoy a lovely Valentine's Day!  Nyah was very excited as we we prepared treats for school.  Valentine's Day was our holiday to take in treats, so we made some heart shaped shortbread cookies, made with love by Nyah!  It was lots of fun attending the class party and getting to wear my PJs to school.

After Valentine's Day, we then got to celebrate Chinese New Year.  This year we got a special treat and a privilege to have an overnight visit with our dear friends, David, Cathy, Georgia and Islay.  The night before our annual Chinese New Year party, the Graham family come over to spend the night and let the girls have a fun time together.  It was a wonderful night.  The girls played so well together, from Pretty Princess to attach Marc.  I can't wait until the next time we get to hang out with this wonderful, happy loving family.
