Welcome to our Christmas06 Fun page.  This was a very exciting and fun month for all. 

This is the 3rd Christmas that we are celebrating with Nyah and it is the first time that we made the trip home for the holiday. We started our vacation by taking an airplane to New Brunswick.  Nyah did really well on the flight.  She was a little nervous about it, because she needed to set in her own big girl seat.  It was really cute the morning we left, she said "Mommy, I want to set next to Daddy on the plane".  We were not sure if there would be 2 seats or 3.  It is great to see that she goes to Marc for an protections.  If she is scared she wants to be closed to him.  After our flight, Memere picked us up at the airport in her "little people" car.  It was really funny getting all of baggage and everyone in the little Kia Rio.  We did it but I think Memere was pretty cramped in the back between a suitcase and Nyah.

After a nice dinner, we headed over to have a little visit with Stephanie and the boys (Mike was working, so we got to see him the next morning).  The boys have grown so much since we saw them in the summer.  Austin is talking up a storm now with lots to say.  The next day when we went to visit with Mike, the kids had a great time decorating gingerbread men.  It was great to see them all together share time and activities together.

The next day we also had a fun visit with Larry and  Gloria, Grandpre and Memere.  We were having lots of fun catching up until Memere took out the gifts.  Nyah then only had one focus, especially because she could see what part of the gift was. 

The next night, Mike and Stephanie had a gather at there home with some family and friends.  It was fun to meet some of their friends and to see Marc's cousin her kids. 

After dinner, the karaoke was started by the little ones.  It was so funny, we asked if Nyah was interested in singing too and she said no, but she starred very intently at everyone else.  Then she said she wanted to sing too.  As you can see she had a great time and just wanted to keep going.  After about 10 rounds of Itsy Bitsy Spider and Wheels on the Bus, we had to pry the mike from her (please check out our Christmas Video Gallery for an glimpse of the show).  We had lots of fun, except for the fact that I was not feeling very well as I had started to come down with some kind of bug and I was dealing with a big headache, aches, pains and chills.  As the night ended early, Marc took Nyah and myself home so I could crash and get warm in bed.

 

We returned back to Moncton to spend the last part of our vacation.  We actually arrived in Moncton and went directly to Mike and Stephanie's to have dinner with them and Larry and Gloria.  We all had a fun time.  It had been years since we all were together at the same time.  It was nice for Larry and Gloria to see the kids playing together.

The next morning, Mike, Stephanie and the boys came over to Memere and Pepere's house to do our gift exchange.  Everyone was every excited and all the kids really enjoyed there new toys.

The next day was Memere's 55th birthday...  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  To celebrate we all went to a matinee and watched Happy Feet.  Nyah was very excited because this was her first time going to the theatre.  She did really well for about half the movie, then tiredness set in and she fell asleep.  But Marc and I really enjoyed the movie, it had been awhile.

The next night was New Years Eve.  It was a quiet night, we spent the evening visiting with Stephanie and Memere and Pepere.  This was our 3rd New Year's Eve that we celebrated with Nyah and as usual she was up until the count down and then she crashed fast.  It was fun.

Well that has taken us to the end of December and the end of 2006.  2006 was a great year with Nyah and Marc.  Nyah has changed a great deal over the year with many new phases and new friends.  We are all looking forward to 2007 for many reasons like Memere and Pepere are coming to visit soon, Nyah will be joining dance, Nyah will be starting school and we will be getting one year closer to our little Mei Mei.

The next day we packed up the car with all our gear, a sick Mommy and snacks for a trip up north to start the second part of our trip.  It was a really bad ride with lots of snow and wet rain.  Once we rolled into Miche and Pere's house we were all a little tired, I was a bit on the mend and everyone was anxiously waiting our arrival.  Nyah was overjoyed with excitement.  She really had a great time with her much older cousins.  I think she enjoys playing with them because she becomes their world. 

The next day was Christmas ever and it was a beautiful sunny day.  Pere, Nyah and Marc headed outside for some fun.  As you can see Pere did a little shoveling, Nyah helped a bit and did some running around and Marc was the photographer catching all the wonderful moments. 

Once they returned back in to the house, we did some hanging out with with family before dinner.  After dinner, it was time to get Santa and the reindeer's milk, cookies and carrots ready before heading out to a late church service.  Nyah was a great helper peeling the carrots and pouring the milk.  She was very excited about it all.  She also was very curious while we were are church with the manger and baby Jesus.  She sat quietly as the priest read and store and asked questions, it was a very special moment.

The next morning was a very excited day...  Christmas Day.  Nyah was very excited about her visitor.  She was so curious and happy to see that Santa ate all the cookies and that even the 9th carrot was gone... It guess Rudolph was on the trip also the night before.  After playing with her Santa gift - the Littlest Pet Shop, all her cousins, taunts and uncles came over for breakfast and gift exchanging.  Nyah had a fun time and I think her favourite gift was the doctor kit and doctor coat that Miche and Pere gave her...  As usual they out did Santa.

That afternoon we were all invited to Ingrid and Rodney's for a wonderful Christmas dinner of Turkey and all the trimmings.  The food was fabulous.  THANKS!  Because Rodney had worked all day and got home just before dinner, Ingrid and Rodney started to open their gifts, and believe me Nyah was a great helper.  She had lots of fun. 

The next day we woke up to a very beautiful snow fall, we were all very excited.  It was a pretty winter day with soft falling snow.  We decided to all go sliding.  It was lots of fun, Nyah and everyone had a great time....  After that Nyah was so pooped she fell sleep in Taunt Krista's arms.  I think Krista enjoyed these special moment more than Nyah did I am sure.  That night we all gathered at Miche and Pere to play a couple of games.  Nyah had lots of fun helping everyone try and open the surprise gift box.  It was lots of laughs. 

The day after we went to have a little visit with Mataunt and Johnny, when we got there we were delighted to see my cousin Blain was home with his wife and their little girl, Gracelyn.  Nyah was a little shy during the visit because she hasn't seen them very much.  The rest of the evening was spent hanging out and playing doctor with all the cousins, Taunts and Uncles.  Nyah just loves her visits with them all.  Once everyone else left, with was more bonding time with Amethyst and Victoria because they were having a sleep over with her.  Then before we knew it, it was our last night of fun and visiting with Miche, Pere and everyone else.  As Nyah is getting older, it became more difficult to leave all the family.  As we were leaving, she was saying "I miss everyone."
