After that we made our way to the class and Nyah finally got to meet her teacher, Mlle Mui. She seemed like a very nice lady who is also Chinese, just like Nyah. After a few moments of talking to the teacher, I told Nyah that I couldn't stay long and would have to go soon... Nyah then put her arm on my leg and pushed me back a bit, telling me that I could go now. I was so surprised, almost shocked that she was ready for me to leave. So I asked for a hug and when I lowered down to her, her little face should it all... She was being as strong as she could be, but she was still a little scared. At 11:00 AM, I went back and had a little 10 minute interview with the teacher. First day complete and all went great....
Then the next full day came Tuesday, Sept 11/07... This was the first day for Nyah to take the bus... This morning Marc was able to come to the bus stop too. After we were all ready and feed we made our way to the stop. Nyah seemed pretty excited, she was running down the road. At the bus stop, we got to see lots of new kids and parents along with Nyah's little friend Michael. When the bus arrived, all the little ones made their way on to the bus and to their seats. It was really cute because the driver had to stop and help the kids into their seats. I think there were like 6 new JK students.
Then after the bus pulled away from the curb, I headed home to get in the van and follow it. I ended up at the school before the bus and I made my way closer, I could see I was not the only one. There ended up being 5 parents in all. The bus ended up arriving late, after the bell rang. Then the little ones, made it out and formed a line and made their way into the school. It was really cute but yet scary for me. Nyah also seemed a little bit overwhelmed as she made her way down the stairs.
The ride home was another story all together... The schedule is that Nyah will take bus 105 from our home to school and take bus 149 from school to Marsha's. I also decided to pick her up for the first two weeks and for us to come home and hang out. Well as I was waiting for the bus to come, I kept waiting and watching all the different buses make their way. Then finally the bus came, and two little girls got off... I headed over to them and to my dismay, they were acutally from Nyah's school and she was not on that bus. I was on the brink of tears then... So I called the transportation office and said my kid was not on the bus, after being put on hold a couple of times, I ended up finding out that Nyah was MISTAKENLY put on the 105 morning bus.... Can you say panic? Luckily that bus arrives after Marsha's location. I was able to make my way home before the bus came. When I finally got Nyah back in my arms, I was just overjoyed to see she was ok. She did realize she was on the wrong bus but didn't seem to concerned, I guess she really doesn't understand how awful that was and how scary it was. Needless to say, I will need to call the school tomorrow. I didn't think my first call to the school would be so soon....
Anyway, I hope you enjoy all the wonderful pictures taken of Nyah for these first days of school.
Please come back in October to see all the pictures for September07.
